Specialist, Electrician
What this job involves:
As a Specialist, Electrician at JLL, you'll be the technical expert responsible for delivering exceptional electrical maintenance services that keep facilities running safely and efficiently. This role combines preventative maintenance excellence with responsive troubleshooting to ensure all electrical systems and equipment operate reliably. You'll become a familiar face throughout the workplace, proactively identifying potential issues before they become problems and building strong relationships with facility teams and building occupants. What your day-to-day will look like:
• Perform preventative maintenance on incoming power systems including generators, main switchgear, high voltage disconnects, site lighting, and electrical panels
• Respond to reactive and corrective maintenance calls, minimizing disruption and resolving issues efficiently
• Maintain visible engagement throughout the facility, proactively identifying potential failures and assisting building occupants with their needs
• Troubleshoot electrical problems effectively and develop solutions tailored to facility requirements
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring compliance with local and national electrical codes
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to guide installation and repair work
• Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities to support reliable operations
Required qualifications:
• Valid Oregon Electrician License (LME, PJ, or J)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance
• Strong technical skills with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physical ability to lift more than 50 pounds and work on ladders and elevated lift platforms
• Clean safety record in previous roles
• Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and related software platforms
• Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints
• Experience with HVAC controls and building automation systems
• Proactive problem-solving approach focused on preventing failures before they occur
• Excellent communication skills with customer service orientation
• Adaptability to new technology and willingness to learn new systems and tools
