Unlicensed Medium Voltage Electrician – Mission Critical Data Center Project

Helix Electric is hiring experienced Medium Voltage (MV) Electricians to support a large‑scale, mission‑critical data center project. This role focuses on installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of 5kV–35kV electrical systems across a high‑availability campus.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and terminate shielded MV cable (5kV–35kV)
• Perform stress cones, load‑break elbows, and cold‑shrink/heat‑shrink terminations
• Install and work with medium‑voltage switchgear (ABB, Eaton, Siemens, Schneider)
• Assist with padmount transformers, utility tie‑ins, and primary distribution
• Execute switching orders, LOTO, and follow all site safety protocols
• Perform megger, phasing, and hi‑pot/VLF testing (with supervision or NETA team)
• Interpret one‑line diagrams and wiring schematics
• Collaborate directly with commissioning teams during energization

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a commercial or MV electrician
• Experience with 5kV–35kV cable systems
• Strong understanding of arc‑flash PPE and MV safety practices
• Ability to read technical drawings, one‑lines, and switching procedures
• Must meet background and site badging requirements
• Must have Osha10/30

Preferred Qualifications

• 5yrs of mission critical projects
• 3M, Prysmian, or Hendrix termination training
• Previous data center or substation experience
• Exposure to NETA testing environments
